Notes: James Noble and Robina Campbell were married 27 Jan 1892 in Elma, Perth County,
Ontario. They were both residents of Logan County and both Presbyterian.
Their witnesses were his brother Andrew Noble and Margaret Campbell, both of Logan.
In the 1901 Canada census, the family was living in Grey Township, Huron (East),
Ontario. It consisted of their first four children, Walter, Harvey, Lena and
Stuart. They had a domestic servant, Mary Parrott. In the 1911 Canada
census, they were still living in the Grey Township, and Ralph, John and Jean had been
added to the family. Their home was probably the family farm in Cranbrook.
Except for Harvey, all of their children were born in Ontario. On 8 Apr 1917,
their oldest son Walter was killed in action in the Great War in the Battle of Vimy Ridge
on 8 Apr 1917. Their son Harvey also served in the Great War.
In the 1921 Canada census, Jim was listed as a carpenter. Lena, Ralph, Jack,
and Jean were still living at home
They had a total of seven children, and a marriage that lasted 50 years.
James died 10 Apr 1942. Robina lived to be almost 100 years old, and died
23 May 1968. They are both buried in the
Knox Presbyterian Cemetery, Cranbrook, Huron, Ontario. |
